Thank you for reporting this issue. I can not reproduce this in Xubuntu Maverick Meerkat, the development version.

Do you get the notification screen, asking to discard, save, or close without saving?
Please attach your ~/.xsession-errors file as a plain text file after reproducing this issue.

Hello, this bug is reported in LTS and not in development version and I use LTS now.

I do see notification screen to save and then that notification screen is gone when clicked, but main mousepad window stays (I see now that now it closes after some time but that time is mesured in a sew minutes, with no reason known to me).

I will report ~/.xsession-errors as soon it starts behaving like this again (it does not do it always and certenly not after fresh reboot, but after some times. I will get to the further explanation of situation how to reproduce and post it when it happens.

Thanks for letting us know it actually does close, even if it takes a very long time. I believe this is then a duplicate of bug #531704. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.
