Hi Michael,

please find attached the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade.

Since the system was broken after the failed upgrade I had installed hardy (with formatting the / partition, keeping the /home partition).
To get the files I went back to gusty (new installation with formatting / and keeping the /home partition). I made again the dist-upgrade and got the same errors.

The cause of the failure is:
