Stepwise upgrade from Lucid to Maverick to Natty; when updating to Natty, I got an alert "monodoc-base failed to install". Upgrade fails subsequently with "Could not install the upgrades. The upgrade has aborted. Your system could be in an unusable state. A recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a)".
