2015-05-26 04:49:28 Ashesh description I have this issue on both Xubuntu 14.04 & Xubuntu 15.04; after installing few themes and icon packs, xfce4-appearance-settings starts to crash on launch. ashesh-pc1@A1315IN:~$ xfce4-appearance-settings (xfce4-appearance-settings:13880): GLib-ERROR **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.40.2/./glib/gmem.c:133: failed to allocate 2048 bytes Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) I having this issue on my current Xubuntu 14.04 (with XFCE 4.12) install; after installing few themes and icon packs, xfce4-appearance-settings starts to crash on launch. Themes installed: Adwaita, Albatross, bluebird, Greybird, HighContrast, Numix(via PPA & in use), Orion(via PPA), Raleigh Icon packs installed: Elementary Xfce, Elementary Xfce dark, Elementary Xfce darker, Elementary Xfce darkest, Faba(via PPA), GNOME, High Contrast, Humanity, Humanity-Dark, Moka(via PPA & in use), Numix(via PPA), Numix Circle(via PPA), Numix Circle Light(via PPA), Numix Light(via PPA) STEPS TO RECREATE: The bug is possibly difficult to recreate. However, if the tabs or different themes on the appearance setting windows are clicked rapidly soon after its launch; it has a higher chance of crashing (it's also unresponsive for a while if all it manages works). Try a few times if it didn't happen on the first try. Make sure you are already using the Numix theme and Moka icons. NOTE: Removing moka-icon-theme package seemingly fixes the crash, so the problem may be very well with the icon pack itself and not with xfce4-appearance-settings. CRASH MESSAGE: ashesh-pc1@A1315IN:~$ xfce4-appearance-settings (xfce4-appearance-settings:13880): GLib-ERROR **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.40.2/./glib/gmem.c:133: failed to allocate 2048 bytes Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) VERSION: ashesh-pc1@A1315IN:~$ xfce4-appearance-settings --version xfce4-appearance-settings 4.12.0 (Xfce 4.12) Copyright (c) 2008-2011 The Xfce development team.
