Bug Description

In the below error message I replaced our Dropbox group name with 'groupname':
...
Error found when loading /etc/profile:
/usr/share/modules/init/sh: eval: line 42: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/usr/share/modules/init/sh: eval: line 42: ` Dropbox (groupname) set +x;_mlshdbg='x' ;;'
/usr/share/modules/init/sh: line 61 :export: module: not a function
As a result the session will not be configured correctly.
You should fix this problem as soon as feasible.
...
This error message occurs when I start the computer, which has:
$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
Release: 18.04
Codename: bionic
$
with this version of dropbox
$ dropbox version
Dropbox daemon version: 125.4.3474
Dropbox command-line interface version: 2020.03.04
$
The error message appears with a red exclamation mark (I typed in the error message, as was not copy-able)

I turned off the autostart Dropbox under preferences however the error message persists. Dropbox seems to work OK.

after executing to see if the LSB modules would help:
sudo apt install lsb-core
$ lsb_release -a
LSB Version: core-9.20170808ubuntu1-noarch:security-9.20170808ubuntu1-noarch
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
Release: 18.04
Codename: bionic
$
the error message also persists. The error message can be dismissed by wiggling the mouse to make the cursor appear and then clicking an OK button at which point the desktop screen appears.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1933670/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

This command suggests that the bug is in environment-modules
$ dpkg -S /usr/share/modules/init/sh
environment-modules: /usr/share/modules/init/sh
$

affects: ubuntu → modules (Ubuntu)
