uml290: allow setting more global modes
Unfortunately the modemmanager 0.6~git20120326 1122.16a0029- 0ubuntu1 snapshot currently in the Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" repositories is older than this and does not contain these patches. A new snapshot will hopefully be made before the 12.10 release.
