2010-10-21 20:04:41 Corrado description Binary package hint: modemmanager Affects Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS (both desktop and netbook edition) How to reproduce the crash: connect with USB a Nokia E51 Phone (PC suite mode); connect to the mobile ISP (in my case, ibox.tim.it); use the nm-applet to disconnect. After a little while (possibly closing the web browser) the screen freezes. No possibility of Alt+SysRq+1 or +t, no ssh connection from another computer, no Ctrl+Alt+F1. The same problem on both my computers acer TravelMate 6592 and Acer AspireOne D250 (with UNE). Ubuntu 10.10 with USB boot does not seem to be affected. As soon as one closes the web browser the screen freezes. No possibility of Alt+SysRq+1 or +t, no ssh connection from another computer, no Ctrl+Alt+F1. The caps lock light keeps flashing. The same problem on both my computers Acer TravelMate 6592 and Acer AspireOne D250 (with UNE). Ubuntu 10.10 with USB boot does not seem to be affected. The problem does not occur by using Firefox. Also, the problem does not occur by using Chrome with a wireless or ethernet connection. The crash occurs even if you are using a wireless connection, but you previously used mobile connection. So, probably the bug is in Chrome. I didn't realize this when I first reported this bug.
