Bug Description

Though not directly related, this bug is along similar lines to this other bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/+bug/891307

I've been using precise LTS since a long time and had experienced frequent modem disconnects (my modem is ZTE-AC2787). Some research led me to the link above and I found by looking at udev rules that entry for my particular modem is also missing. A patch could be made by adding a similar entry to /lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules

# ZTE AC2787
ATTRS{idVendor}=="19d2", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0001", RUN+="usb_modeswitch '%b/%k'"

After adding the above entry, the disconnects have stopped happening on my machine. Hope this patch helps someone.

Thanks,
Prahlad
