Bug Description
I have a Teracom T-U500 Rev. A EVDO modem subscribed to BSNL.
The modem works fine in Windows. However, it does not work in Ubuntu.
Firstly, it didn't even get detected. However, after removing usb_modeswitch packages, it does get detected at least and shows up in the NetworkManager setup for Mobile Broadband as well.
However, it does not get connected to the internet.
The modem setup goes fine, but when the created connection is clicked on in the available connections, nothing happens and a notification with 'EVDO connection disconnected' appears.
I am attaching the relevant dmesg output.

One thing though. Lately, I used an official Linux client in .deb format that is present in the storage in the modem accessed via Windows and somehow got it running.
Thereafter, I got successfully connected to the internet.
Also, the method works on both 12.10 and 13.04 with usb_modeswitch removed.
I also, disable the NetworkManager for completely while using it.
