Yes. Please sync miro 3.

The community is not going to fix bugs in Miro 2, so it's smarter to use a version in an LTS that's actually supported upstream!

This bug is tagged needs-packaging which identifies it as a request for a new package in Ubuntu. As a part of the managing needs-packaging bug reports specification, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Specs/NeedsPackagingBugs, all needs-packaging bug reports have Wishlist importance. Subsequently, I'm setting this bug's status to Wishlist.

miro 3.0 is in unstable, and could get merged from there.
This requires a FeatureFreezeException (see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/FFE).

OK, thanks. I believe it would be appropriate for an LTS to have this version, as it will have to be supported for a long time.

It should fix some bugs, and it adds a lot of features (see the two links in this bug description).

Generally I agree, however someone needs to prepare a merged package.

Please set back to new once you've got a merge proposal, thanks!

I started a merge on this, but had more python crashes with Miro 3 than the current version. The new version also needs to be checked for xulrunner-1.9.2 compatibility.

My last post was a little unclear. I'm not actually working on this anymore and abandoned the attempt.

I've worked on this and it works OK for me until now - just used it a few minutes though.

I will upload the package to my PPA, so you can test the build package (https://launchpad.net/~blueyed/+archive/ppa).

Any testing feedback?

If we can get some reports that it's not riddled with bugs in the next few hours
it would be great.

Thanks,

James
