Bug Description

Set default mouse acceleration profile to none/flat.

Why? Because it would make our default mouse movement the same as Unity7/lightdm, and would also solve at least two bugs, maybe more:
  * bug 1522295
  * bug 1524145
  * bug 1591328

Wasn't this addressed as part of the input rework that happened between this bug report and today?

I don't know of this ever being fixed. And now we have the same problem in Gnome Shell too, thanks to libinput.

I guess most people won't remember what the old flat profile (Xorg without libinput) felt like so will never notice. But in Gnome Shell you can force libinput to use it:

  Gnome Tweaks > Keyboard & Mouse > Mouse > Acceleration Profile = Flat

I guess "Won't Fix" would be an understandable conclusion here if Mir's not being used for desktops, and/or workarounds like above exist. If I was working on Mir myself though, I would have pushed this through to resolution eventually.
