Bug Description

Minitube no longer works as of ubuntu 12.04. In both Ubuntu for the desktop and Ubuntustudio. It did work in Xubuntu 11.10. Tried on 3 machines (all i386)

Minitube starts normally, a search subject is chosen (say phil Collins) and a list of his videos appears as normal. The first one starts playing... and the title appears on the screen. Then the progress bar goes across the screen and the audio starts, but the screen stays the same with the title and the full proress bar. After a few seconds of sound, the sound stops too and then the second video loads and the same things happens as with the first and so on.

I had the very same issue, and I managed to solve it by switching to phonon-backend-vlc instead of the default phonon-backend-gstreamer. This suggests that this is not a bug in minitube but much more likely in the phonon-backend-gstreamer package.

@Leuke, and how did you switch to the phonon-backend-vlc? phonon-backend-gstreamer seems to be a dependency...

Thanks Leuke
I 've installed phonon-backend-vlc and then removed both phonon-backend-gstreamer and minitube at the end re-installed minitube and every thing is fine now
many thanks.

Switching to phonon-backend-vlc does fix the problem on Debian, for the record.
