Bug Description
I have just ran into an odd situation where popular Youtube player for Ubuntu "Minitube" asked me for root permissions after clicking on the app to run it. Has anyone else ran into the same issue? This could potentially be a security risk.
What I was doing right before I clicked: I was installing updates via the Ubuntu Software Updater. I know for a fact the software updater did not request root permissions (I always watch the updater as it begins to download making sure I have no open apps that will try to update and that no root permissions will be needed for extensive updates and/or updates via PPA)

I downloaded minitube 2.2-1 from the Ubuntu archive and examined the source. I could not find any references to sudo or pkexec. Where did you obtain minitube from? If from software center, what is the output of:
$ apt-cache policy minitube
