Bug Description
Binary package hint: metacity
Upgrade from Lucid to Maverick. After upgrade, when I open new windows, those windows do not rise to the top. Also, they do not rise when clicking at the bar at the top of the window.
This is probably made more difficult by the fact that there is no actual title bar, and no window control buttons at all. I have a menu bar for each window, but no title bar.

I'm experiencing the same problem.
I've did upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 Beta, Netbook edition.
When I start in "normal Gnome Session", I get no window controls and menus on applications where these items appears on top bar of the new Netbook edition GUI.
If I start in Gnome failsafe, everything works fine.
I've already tried to delete gnome-session, compiz, changed from no effects to normal and extra effects, but nothing helped.
