does it work fine in another user session? could you attach your ~/.xsession-errors file after getting the error? Thanks.

This affects me too.

:~$ grep metacity .xsession-errors

Window manager warning: Failed to read saved session file /home/jonathon/.config/metacity/sessions/107af94427bcf03b48126843821365590400000013140004.ms: Failed to open file '/home/jonathon/.config/metacity/sessions/107af94427bcf03b48126843821365590400000013140004.ms': No such file or directory

Problem is repeatable on each boot. Metacity doesn't load automatically and has to be started manually.

EOL have been reached, so no more maintenance. If that issue still exist, then report again using ubuntu-bug.
