metacity crashes when gossip windows pops up

Gossip window is hidden and only the notification icon appears. When I click it
the window appears but metacity crashes.

It would respawn 9 times out of 10. The 10th one, I had to start it from the
command line, where I could see it crashed with segfault. It was then respawned
again.

This is an up-to-date breezy started everyday.

I just found this only happens when Gossip is the only window on the current
desktop. Shall I open another window and Gossip behaves fine.

I wonder if the bug belongs to Gossip...

No, this happens when opening synaptic too.

I've applied the CVS patch to the package which fixes the issue for me:

 metacity (1:2.11.1-0ubuntu2) breezy; urgency=low
 .
   * debian/patches/003_311819fix.patch:
     - fix the crasher #311819 from bugzilla.gnome.org (Ubuntu: #13062).
