A lot of force quits on exiting thunderbird

It happens regularly that thunderbird freezes and the force quit dialog comes up.
I assume this is because thunderbird doesn't kill what it is doing at the moment
of the exit command and tries to wait for say pop-retrieval to finish before exiting

This actually seems to be a trivial issue

the force quit dialog comes up before thunderbird is done closing down.
It will almost always go down cleanly, but yet the force dialog always pops up.

Yes, and if you just ignore the force quite dialog and wait a while, Thunderbird
will shut itself down just fine. The fact that it takes a while to shut down
may be a minor bug, but metacity's faking you out by making you think you need
to kill it when you don't.

It happens often with OpenOffice on a not-so-fast computer. I guess it's a Metacity bug.

Are people still seeing this issue? I've not had a "force quit" dialog in metacity with thunderbird for ages now...
