Bug Description

Since I upgraded to 18.04 (and now to 20.04) I have started seeing windows, usually prompts, where the main buttons like "Ok", "Cancel", "Next", "Close" and the like are at the top of the window, inside the title bar, at the right and/or left.

Sometimes they are green.

Like, you have a window like this:

  * A title
  *
  * A body
  *
  * A question (e.g. would you like to continue?)

And the buttons that are the very answers to that question are at the top of the window :facepalm:

This is absolutely ridiculous. Complete madness.

Who's the genius that came up with this brilliant idea??

Seriously, I would like her or him to come here and explain the rationale behind this decision.

The only hypothesis I can think of is saving a few square pixels of screen real estate. Definitely not worth having to look around to find the thing that is not in the only place that would make sense.

I know there are languages that write right to left. I have never heard of any where they write from the botton up, however. And anyway, I have my system in English and the information is being displayed in English. Also, EVERYTHING flows from top to bottom. At the top is the title, below it is the paragraph describing what the prompt is about; below it is the question I'm presented with. So I can't see a reason why the buttons that represent my choices to answer that question should be back at the top before everything else.

Unbelievable.

Not only this changes something we have ALWAYS seen done a given way for decades (literally since there have ever been personal computers) and is still done so in EVERY other operating system.
If it were a revolutionary, visionary change that improves things that could weigh against breaking well-established convenstions. But it isn't, it gains nothing, it improves nothing, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Anf if at least it were consistent. Like if ALL prompts and popups were now like that.
But no, just some of them. Randomly.

Seriously guys, what on earth happened to Ubuntu??
