Bug Description

On my Dell Latitude D600, both sets of touchpad buttons work only intermittently on 10.04 beta. It's about 50%. Sometimes they work, sometimes they are ignored, sometimes I have to click twice, and sometimes they seem to be "stuck" in the down position. The buttons work fine in Windows when I dual boot. This worked fine a while ago when I had 9.04 installed.

I haven't connected an external mouse to see if it has any problems, as I always use the touchstick.

I'm having the same issue. Connecting a mouse via USB works fine. This has been the issue since upgrading to Karmic Koala, but the issue still appears in Lucid Lynx.

I also have the same issue with Ubuntu 10.04 (gnome) on a Dell D600.
The left touch-pad button seems to become stuck in a down position and it only responds after moving the cursor or pressing again (sometimes a few times). This is true for both the upper and lower mouse buttons (above and below the touch-pad). I have't noticed this issue with other older Linux distributions including Ubuntu 8.10 (which is still installed on this PC). My external USB mouse is also working OK.

I have the exact problem on my laptop, Dell D600. It is maddening to loose the select button, it can be disabled for a few minutes or more. An external USB mouse works fine, but is not desired to carry yet more junk with me.
