Bug Description

Hi,

There are graphics errors on wine when using ati free drivers and kernel > 2.6.36.2. The error is this https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24802 and it seems that the correct way to solve it is to upgrade mesa.

Natty i386 is affected, using a 2.6.36.1 kernel or upgrading mesa from xorg-edgers solves the problem.

Natty AMD64 is affected too, using 2.6.36.1 kernel solves the problem, but using xorg-edgers doesn't solve the problem here, I guess ia32-libs (mesa 32 bits¿?) needs to be upgraded too.

Regards
Jaime

gratuitous space battles demo is affected too (requires wine 1.3.6, on recent wine doesn't work)

Jaime:

I've applied the patch to mesa from the above bugzilla bug report and built it in my ppa. You may want to try it. It didn't fix the bug I'm having but I guess it should fix yours.

The ppa is: ppa:jsjgruber/ppa

natty has moved the mesa package version past that in my ppa.

As an update, there are plans to upgrade mesa in natty to 7.10, perhaps shortly if xorg-edgers testing goes well. It appears to me that the upstream patch referred to above is currently included in 7.10. (5b15b5f in git://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa)

Thank you for your bug report.

I am not really sure, but this seems to be a bugr on ia32-libs, upgrading this package and using mesa 7.10 (32 bits) on 64 bits OS should solve the problem ¿?

Is this still an issue with 14.04?
