It might be useful to know, what 3d application your trying to run, and by resize window do you mean, changing the monitor resolution, or trying to go fullscreen, or literally trying to change the windows size?

Hi,

The 3D application is actually jmonkeyengine and recreateWindow() function call is which makes X server crash.

It seems that the original bug reporter has attached the valid apport information to the bug, therefore marking it new.

 status new
 tag +lucid
 tag +crash

Also since this is a crash, please install the following symbols to get a valid report from the gdb: apt-get install xserver-xorg-core-dbg

Could you please explain what you mean by "crash"? What screens do you see, etc? Does the Capslock light work? Can you switch to a TTY with Ctrl+Alt+F1?

Does the problem still happen if you disable Compiz or don't suspend?

Hi,

I don't have desktop effects in use. Crash happens even if I haven't sustended my machine earlier.

By crash I mean screen going black and after that Gdm screen appears and I can log in again. I think X server just dies (because libglx.so experiences a segmentation fault?)

Hi,

Sometimes going through this tutorial (see attached java webstart file) crashes X too and X can not be started without booting machine.

Sami Pietila, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases, Lucid Desktop reached EOL on May 9, 2013.

Is this reproducible on a supported release?
