Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Having just installed Lucid Beta 2 the following happens.

When fully booted I have an "X" as a cursor.

Opening any application opens without any borders, and puts the menu of the application on top of the Ubuntu desktop menu bar. If the cursor is not within the application, the application is not active. Just moving the cursor over the window makes it active. No mouse button pressing necessary.

It is impossible to open a second application up as the desktop menu is completely hidden and the application window can not be moved.

This can be resolved by "sudo metacity --replace" but that is necessary on every boot up.

This appears to be a problem in the mesa driver for savage video cards.

Due to a lack of activity on this bug, I have tried another Savage card with the same PCIDisplay 5333:8a22 which works perfectly so I think it would make sense to close this bug.
