Nvidia GLx drivers stop login to gnome

Bug Description

I installed jaunty and then installed the nvidia-glx-96, modprobe the module and updated xorg.conf and restart X. THe gdm login page displayed upon login into gnome as a normal user the desktop wallpaper is show and then the system hangs. I changed to another terminal and xorg and compiz where eating all the cpu. I then waited 5 minutes and it still was hung i stop xorg change the driver to be nv rmmod the module and couple login to gnome no problem.

I keep having this problem and no am running the nv module without 3d acceleration.
