There's no way to withdraw an update other than by dropping the offending patch, but since I already have a replacement available we should test that instead.
And now that the PPA builds are finally back, please test this one on xenial:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:tjaalton/ppa && apt update && apt upgrade
but if you have the padoka ppa enabled, it needs to be removed first:
sudo ppa-purge ppa:paulo-miguel-dias/pkppa
and if you installed stock xenial xorg stack, reinstall -hwe-16.04 by:
sudo apt install --install-recommeds xserver-xorg-hwe-16.04
remember to reboot or at least log out after installing the new mesa from my ppa
