window opens maximized

Bug Description

A new application window without documents opens in the last saved window size (from when it had documents). That means the new, empty application window covers most often the whole screen. This is very disproportionate to the amount of useful content that the user can interact with (it is completely empty except of a tiny toolbar on top).

This is also a usability problem because the window covers the whole desktop and makes for example drag&drop interactions difficult.
