GtkWarning with XUbuntu

Doing a fresh install of XUbuntu 10.04 and switching to SmallScreen Style brings the following warnings on the command line in an xfce4-terminal running meld (installed version is 1.3.0-2ubuntu1):
/usr/lib/meld/dirdiff.py:262: GtkWarning: gtk_label_set_ellipsize: assertion `GTK_IS_LABEL (label)' failed
  self.filter_menu_button.set_label_widget(label)
/usr/lib/meld/dirdiff.py:262: GtkWarning: gtk_label_set_angle: assertion `GTK_IS_LABEL (label)' failed
  self.filter_menu_button.set_label_widget(label)
/usr/lib/meld/dirdiff.py:262: GtkWarning: gtk_misc_set_alignment: assertion `GTK_IS_MISC (misc)' failed
  self.filter_menu_button.set_label_widget(label)

I tried several other themes, some with more, some with less GtkWarnings. SmallScreen Style did work on at least XUbuntu 9.10, 9.04 and 8.10.

Maybe it's more a style bug than a meld bug. Trying truecrypt (binary version 7.0) results in

Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkOptionMenu::indicator-size' of type `GtkRequisition' from rc file value "0" of type `glong'
Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property `GtkOptionMenu::indicator-spacing' of type `GtkBorder' from rc file value "0" of type `glong'

Today I tried the command line install with the minimal cd for *ubuntu 10.10, adding xubuntu-desktop and meld later. The reported bug did not appear.

On my daily-use-system running an up-to-date xubuntu 10.04, the bug still appears.
