I am trying to sort this out, and another similar thread came to life today - 603582. It looks like you have both done the same work. Are you aware of his work, what is the difference? Is this duplicated effort?

It seems like it would be better for our cause (and admittedly any pre-release users like me) if the knowledge of both of your were pooled to form a single version for people to use in the short term, and to be rolled into a future Ubuntu release in the long term.
