The first version copied the map file to /var/run/map. I then changed my mind as I saw ubuntu had a mdadm folder there, and I changed the location to /var/run/mdadm/map. I'm running the 3.1.2-0ubuntu2 version and the map file is working correctly from the mdadm folder.
