Binary package hint: mc

Hi,
when im running mc like root ( sudo mc ) and exit, setting is saved with root:root privileges. Next run when im running it like normal user, mc isnt able to save setting because isnt allowed to write into ~/.mc/ini

Which version are you using? Try one from my PPA, it should work fine in this scenario.

Very strange. I can not reproduce it. Did you try to sudo chown -R youruser:youruser ~/.mc and then run sudo mc again? If you tried sudo mc the first thing, of course it will create the configuration files with owner root and never change it in the future.

Maybe that was reason, i run mc as root at first.

If you are unable to reproduce it otherwise, then it actually was the reason, because the bug when mc was taking over the permissions we already fixed. Closing as invalid then.
