MC (Midnight Commander) does not wish to keep CONFIG

mc and Karmic:
I set "use built in editor" and exit.
after restart (mc): checkbox "use built in editor" OFF!!! etc...

Not only doesn't mc save its configuration, it never creates the ~/.mc configuration directory.

yes, after i create ~/.mc directory "mc" work fine and remember config!

I can confirm that creating the ~./mc directory by hand and restarting mc is a workaround for this bug.

When someone from the community (as mc is community maintained) takes the upstream fix and prepares a SRU for karmic. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for the SRU procedure.
