Bug Description

Binary package hint: maximus

Hi all, I have a problem when running Maximus.
Sometimes (not always) when I open or close (mostly when I close) a window, gnome panel disappers and I have to got the focus of a window to see it coming back, for example by calling kupfer dialogue window.

I'm running Maximus 0.4.14, Gnome 2.30.2 and Debian Testing

Thanks a lot for the help

Confirming this on Lucid. I use Alt-F2 and 'killall gnome-panel' to bring the panel back.

I think that the problem is related with metacity compositing. I had the same problem but solved by disabling metacity compositing and then replacing it with xcompmgr.
xcompmgr is a lightweight compositing manager.
Now I'm running Maximus 0.4.14, Gnome 2.30.2, Debian Sid on my netbook and xcompmgr and maximus works fine.
