Bug Description

Running 21.10-latest I have recently switched to using the Appearance "TraditionalOk" and it seems that every now and then I have 3 items in UI that crash and ask for a relaunch.

I am not very prolific at debugging this but maybe the following off my ~/.xsessions-errors could be more useful?

Had this again today and here's what ~/.xsession-errors had to say:

I have just upgraded to 22.04 and am still having this problem.

However instead of 3 objects failing I only have 1.

Also I am not sure if I can give you very much details because there doesn't seem to be much of relevance under ~/.xsession-errors but I think only the last line is related:

PS: by "upgrading to 22.04" I mean that I did not changed my appearances before upgrading and when I now look under appearances it says that I am running "custom" (See enclosed photo).

But does it highlights "custom" because by default when one opens this option it auto-selects the first entry or should it automatically point to the one currently in use? Looking at "background" it's selected to my current background (see 2nd picture) so I would assume that the default behavior is to automatically select the running match.

But if that's the case: why does it say custom? Shouldn't it be at... "TraditionalOK"??
