Bug Description

I'm running MATE on the latest upgrade to Ubuntu 17.10 - mainly because Gnome Flashback started crashing and I require multiple desktop spaces. My current configuration is 2x Xeon X5650 processors and 48GB of ECC memory.

Attempting to assign a color to any CPU thread in the system monitor above CPU #16 causes a crash of the process. It's minor, but puzzling why this is the case.

What about this is invalid, precisely? It's still happening, I can replicate at whim. Would you like a video recording demonstrating it? Do you require more information?

Fixed upstream in mate-system-monitor 1.22.1 (and Ubuntu 19.10 has 1.22.2).
