Bug Description

as a result, X blanks the screen after 10 minutes regardless of what the screensaver is told to do (ie "don't blank the screen").

$ ps ax |grep screensa
 1478 ? Sl 0:00 mate-screensaver

$ xset q
[snip]
Screen Saver:
  prefer blanking: yes allow exposures: yes
  timeout: 600 cycle: 600
DPMS (Energy Star):
  Standby: 600 Suspend: 600 Off: 600
  DPMS is Enabled
  Monitor is On

This worked correctly in 14.04 without needing the user to hack up a .xessionrc file.
