Bug Description

I expect: menu to always appear on top of other windows.

What happens: About ~50% of the time the menu appears behind other open windows, seemingly at random.
I think this started happening after updating to mate-menu 5.7.0-1. If I change the value of the type_hint property back to to menu in mate-menu.glade and then run mate-panel --replace, the issue goes away. Changing value back to "toolbar" and restarting again, the issue reproduces.

If you can reproduce I suggest reverting recent change as this is a worse bug than the menu occasionally appearing detached from toolbar.

Ubuntu MATE 16.04
mate-menu v5.7.0-1

Using the 'dock' window hint appears to fix the issue. I'll prepare a new release.

I read this has been fixed and committed - but (assuming this is the correct area to file the report) I'm using the latest updates and still seeing the advanced (not the default) menu sitting behind other windows unless the panel is clicked first.

Minor issue really - more of annoyance.
