Can somebody please tell me how to reproduce this error? Apport logs alone does not contain enough information to solve a bug.

Hi,

It seems that this bug happens when I updated mariadb from the graphical interface.

Updating from the command line a couple of hours laters, I was asked to confirm that I want to replace mysql by mariadb. I wasn't asked this from graphical console.

Is this a hint to solve this ?

Thanks @Julien!

What did you have installed before you upgraded into mariadb 5.5.41? Did you migrate from mysql 5.5 or from an older version of mariadb? Was the previous version installed from the official Ubuntu repositories or somewhere else?

When you were asked the migration question in the graphical UI, did you respond with 'yes' or 'no'?

Hi,

I did not remember what was installed before. I think I installed MariaDB (I do remember I wanted to avoid mysql).

I answered yes and all was fine after that.

I am sorry for the lack of information. I did not expected to have such bug and I wasn't prepare for gathering those informations.

Please this is still giving me problems. I get a failure with a mariadb -- unconfigured error regularly. I'm not sure how to fix it
