For the record it passes for me locally with:

Apparently running the test with 4G RAM fixes it.

thanks for confirming, I admit I didn't think about adding more ram to let it pass, nice catch!

Is adding RAM sufficient now or should we disable the test on the grounds that it is too big for Ubuntu CI?

Currently I am seeing only a failure for i386 at
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/mariadb-10.5
about the installation step, that just says "Depends: mariadb-test:i386 but it is not installable" without further debug info.

The i386 test is also failing on mariadb-10.3 across all releases at https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/mariadb-10.3
with a similar error.

Older 10.1 and 10.0 dont show (historical) failures:

By the way, mariadb-10.3 should be removed from Hisute. It is supposed to ship with MariaDB 10.5 only.
