Bug Description

Binary package hint: man-db

I restored an older image of Xubuntu Lucid, as Maverick riddled with bugz. I ran Update Manager to patch to latest versions when got man-db error.

Are you able to reproduce with one of the following command:
$ sudo /usr/bin/mandb -p /var/cache/man
or
$ perl -e '@pwd = getpwnam("man"); $( = $) = $pwd[3]; $< = $> = $pwd[2]; exec "/usr/bin/mandb", @ARGV' -- "-p"
