After installing Maliit from apt I am unable to login to an X11 session.
I found this in ~/.xsession-errors:

Removing Maliit resolved my problem.
Confirmed. I added maliit-keyboard as suggested by upstream and boom. Removing it did solve the issue. I will file a bug upstream kde.
