Bug Description

Thijs kinkhorst wrote in the release doc. of mailman:

mailman (1:2.1.14-4) unstable; urgency=low
...
  * Add 'su root list' statements to logrotate config, to cope
with logrotate >= 3.8; thanks Joël Bertrand (closes: #653766).
...
The proposed change does not work on Ubuntu 12:10 because
"su" cannot have two arguments.

This is after an upgrade from Ubuntu 12.04.02 LTS to 12.10.

Confirmed this affects 12.10, as logrotate is still 3.7.8.

However, 13.04 will require this change as logrotate is updated to 3.8.3.
