Bug Description

Binary package hint: mail-notification

Due to Debian license issues (or, at the least, the Debian package maintainer's understanding of them as iterated in the README) this utility is compiled with no SSL support.

The maintainer does not specify what the "license issue" is in the readme, just that it exists.

Without SSL support, this utility is effectively useless.

Thank you for your report. This issue has already been raised in the past (bug #1468). That other bug report contains url links to the reasons why SSL support is not enabled in Ubuntu and Debian.
