Bug Description

Ubuntu Cosmic currently has MAAS 2.5 alpha 2. This is a Standing Feature Freeze Exception request for MAAS 2.5 upcoming beta/rc/final releases for Ubuntu Cosmic.

Dependencies & Upgrade
======================

MAAS 2.5 has introduced the following features:

 - CentOS/RHEL networking support
 - ESXi support
 - KVM Pod networking support
 - KVM Pod storage pool
 - ppc64el/arm64/s390x KVM pod support
 - Improved LDAP support & RBAC for resource pools
 - Rack Controller - proxy all communication
 - Performance/usability improvements
 - BMC enlistment
 - Partition tags

Upcoming releases are targeted to bugfix, improve and complete the features above.

Testing
======

Testing performed:

 - CI testing
 - Manual UI testing
 - Fresh install testing
 - Upgrade testing

We follow the same strict QA processes for new releases, as with SRU's.

    - d/extras/99-maas-common-sudoers: start/stop/status for maas-rsyslog.
    - d/rules: Handle installation of maas-rsyslog.
    - d/extras/20-maas.conf: Drop as MAAS now generates its own config.
    - d/maas-region-api.install: Drop install of 20-maas.conf.
    - d/maas-region-api.postinst: Drop restart of rsyslog.
    - d/maas-common.install: Drop install of maas-rsyslog.conf.
    - d/maas-common.{preinst,postinst}: Handle upgrades.
