changing terminal color in lxterminal causes display of htop to partially disapper

IN 13.10 saucy Salamander 64 bit If you run htop from lxterminal 0.1.11-4ubuntu3
 then using the menu to edit prefrences and change the color the text in the terminal to change which it does but some of it disappers. Instead some of the text disappered from htop. when the color changes with htop open before changing color.

Since 13.10 is end of life, I'm going to render this incomplete. If there is indeed a problem is a currently supported release, please provide information on what version(s) are affected and set it back to new. It would also be valuable to know if (a) this affects any other program besides htop (and if you want to go really deep, see if it affects other programs, especially GUI-like terminal programs that do not use ncurses) and (b) whether or not the same behavior occurs in any other terminal emulators and (c) whether or not there is any function like a refresh either within htop or within lxterminal that will resolve the problem.
