Bug Description

The lxsession-logout applet doesn't open when "logout" is clicked from the menu in lxpanel or from the task bar power button. When it is invoked from the terminal it doesn't open 60% of the time. It may be noted that this lessens to around 45% when used with the shell builtin 'time'. Pls note that these figure are purely estimations.

I have about 50 machines where this problem is occurring.

When running a gdb session (gdb lxsession-logout), the following is produced:

(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/lxsession-logout
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".
[New Thread 0x7ffff0996700 (LWP 4367)]
[New Thread 0x7fffebfff700 (LWP 4368)]
[Thread 0x7ffff0996700 (LWP 4367) exited]
[Thread 0x7ffff7fbd9c0 (LWP 4363) exited]

*** When lxsession-logout 'hangs', the pause will be after the first "New Thread" in the debugger.
