Nothing related to the terminal opens up. The terminal itself doesn't launch when clicked on.

I initially said it didn't open the installer - but the installer eventually opened. It just took a long time.

I installed an alternative terminal (terminator) and tried to start qterminal from that.

lubuntu@lubuntu:~$ qterminal
qterminal: symbol lookup error: qterminal: undefined symbol: _ZN11QTermWidget20setScrollBarPositionENS_17ScrollBarPositionE
lubuntu@lubuntu:~$

I can get Qlipper to open and close from the regular application menu.

I also get the same error from running qterminal from a menu. I can however run htop in another terminal I insatlled sakura.

I also notice that qtermwidget5-data and libqtermwidget5-1 are version 1.2.0 while qterminal is version 1.1.0. This seems very wierd to me.

I think this was a migration race condition back in the day.
