lxpanel crashes in XFCE Ubuntu 12.1

Bug Description
Often when I have Empathy open and in the taskbar, with a chat window open, if I receive a message to the chat window the Empathy app in the task bar will freeze up. It will be unresponsive until it minimises then lxpanel crashes.
It happens daily.
This is running LXDE desktop.
