Bug Description

1. When I try to enter a new keyboard shortcut (for e.g. Control + F9) in LxHotKey, the button label in the gadget will change to CTRL+F9 but when I try to save it, it shows up in the key list as <Primary>F9, and the shortcut does not work. I have a standard US Logitech keyboard. Correcting the keyboard definition is beyond me and most people.

2. HORRIBLY UN-INTUITIVE for 1 reason.
I could not figure out how to enter a new key in the small gadget. There is no help. The intuitive thing to do to a button is to click it, or you would expect a dropdown menu.

Suggestion: Change the button to an entry box with default-text saying: "Press any key combination"
People will know what to do and could even edit manually the key combo (if it is a function that is desirable).

Thanks for your work.

Totally confirmed but I got to be honest with you: I have *zero* hope to see this fixed. LXDE is pretty much dead. It's certainly true with lxhotkey which has seen no changes (outside of automatic translation updates) since *2016*:

lxhotkey Ctrl key problem can be avoided by using it at the command line, e.g.

~ $ lxhotkey app 'lxsession-default tasks' '<Control><Alt>BackSpace'
~ $ lxhotkey app
 EXEC KEY(s)
lxsession-default launcher <Alt>F2
 ...
lxsession-default tasks <Control><Alt>BackSpace
