icon at LXDE panel not appearing fine

The Firefox icon in the LXPanel (LXDE panel) is not appearing as Firefox icon - it looks as white square with a 'x' inside

A solution for it would be editing the firefox.desktop file, like with 'sudo
gedit /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop' from terminal, editing
'Icon=firefox-3.0' to 'Icon=firefox', and having the icon as firefox.png,
firefox.svg or firefox.xpm at '/usr/share/pixmaps/'.

Unfortunately that doesn't appear to work for me, even if I supplythe full path to the icon in .../pixmaps. Is there any other solution?

Additionally, I have tried creating a Desktop Entry file for the 'Bluej' Java IDE and specified the exact path for the icon, and exactly the same problem with the icon occurs with this too, so I presume there is something wrong with the way the LXDE panel processes the icon paths.

firefox-3.0 is no longer available in supported ubuntu-versions. Also this bug can not be reproduced from me on supported ubuntu-version, so i would suggest to mark this bug as "wont fix". If someone is still facing this bug, please set the status back.

Tested with 10.04, 10.10, 11.04 and 11.10 in combination with the firefox-package on that version
