when trying to install the lxd package, lxc fails to install

Looks like the iptables modules aren't present or couldn't be loaded.
If so, failing to start lxc-net is the right outcome.

Can you tell us what kernel version you're running and what "sudo modprobe iptable_nat" says on your system?
