Addition: it happens too without that line. Just a simple "segmentation fault: core dumped".

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I have removed the lxappearance-obconf package and then lxappearnce launches. Also I think bug 1464899 might be a duplicate and the same problem but not sure which to make the master bug.

The command lxappearance on updated L.15.10 i386 installation shows:
/usr/share/
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Henk Terhell (hterhell) wrote : | #9 |
I have updated an older Lubuntu Wily installation -which had no lxappearance problems-, but witholding LXDE GTK+ theme switcher (plugin). The result after update is that LXappearance still works OK from menu (customize look and feel) as well as the terminal command lxappearance.

If you can't resist, mark it duplicate, I don't care. However, this bug contains two solutions:
hackish: downgrade lxappearance-
non-hackish: upgrade openbox to 3.6.0

Still have segfault with openbox Openbox 3.6.1
Phill Whiteside (phillw) wrote : | #13 |
Correction, it is a different error message. I've raised a new bug.

Julien Lavergne (gilir) wrote : | #14 |
Probably all the crash of lxappearance are related to the ongoing migration to openbox 3.6. I hope the last upload I made on openbox will unblock the migration process, so we can see if there is another crash behind this.

The uploaded version in -proposed solves this issue.

btw, the rc code was changed, and line 55 is fixed in the PPA, so this shouldn't be another separated bug
